I never thought that planning a wedding would involve so many little and big details. I was going NUTS. I don't think people realize (if you haven't been in this position yet, I am sure you understand what I mean because I was just in that position) - how much there is involved. I know exactly what I want and what my budget is, but not everything goes as planned. Like, for instance, the crisis I faced today.
I wanted a specific dress... you know... THE dress... I found it at David's, it was on sale for $99 and I just needed to save the money up for it... So I finally got about halfway there, since they have a layaway thing going on, and the dress was no longer on sale, but it was $249.99 - SONOFA... So then I worked my butt off to scrimp and save until I had a good chunk of the money (at this point, I had $150 and only needed $100 more, right?) -- only to find out that not only was the dress discontinued, but they don't even have it in the discontinued dresses.
I wanted to throw something.
Lucky for me, I have friends in low places. We found the dress elsewhere, I have ALL the $$ for it because it is $100 less than DB would have sold it to me for, and it WILL be in my possession as soon as I hand my $ to my mother.
I have already had to alter some plans, I -will- -not- -alter- -THE- -dress- -plans-. Nope. It's one of three things I wanted specific. The garb (dress, shoes, veil), the cake (which -I- will be decorating), and the flowers, which I altered to take some weight off of my shoulders.
I only have 3 months left before I take the plunge, it just got real.
